Music is a global force, it has the power to bring people from all parts of the world together and change the world. It is a universal language such that you don’t need to understand or speak it, all you need to do is to follow the rhythm and let it take control over you. In recent times there have been collaborations between artistes from all parts of the seven continents of the world like Phyno and Olamide’s Fada Fada, Wizkid and Drake’s Come Closer jam, Major Lazer, Nasty C, Jidenna, Ice Prince and Patoranking’s Particula and Bruno Mars and Cardi B’s Finesse and a host of others are joints that have transcended, transformed and has brought new revelations to the world of music.
In this edition we shall be discussing a possible collaboration Kanye west and J. Cole.
Kanye west
Kanye Omari West was on born June 8, 1977 is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, fashion designer, and entrepreneur. Born in Atlanta and raised in Chicago, West first became known as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records in the early 2000s, producing hit singles for artists such as Jay Z and Alicia Keys . Intent on pursuing a solo career as a rapper, west released his debut album The College Dropout in 2004 to widespread critical and commercial success, and founded the record label GOOD Music. He went on to pursue a variety of different styles on subsequent albums Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007), and 808s & Heartbreak (2008). In 2010, he released his fifth album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy to rave reviews from critics, and the following year he collaborated with Jay Z on the joint LP Watch the Throne (2011). West released his abrasive sixth album, Yeezus, to further critical praise in 2013. His seventh album, The Life of Pablo, was released in 2016.
J. Cole
Jermaine Lamarr Cole was on born January 28, 1985, better known by his stage name J. Cole, is an American hip hop recording artist and record producer. Raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Cole initially gained recognition as a rapper following the release of his debut mixtape, The Come Up, in early 2007. Intent on further pursuing a solo career as a rapper, he would go on to release two additional mixtapes after signing to Jay Z's Roc Nation imprint in 2009. Cole released his debut studio album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, in 2011. It debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, and was soon certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His next two releases, 2013's Born Sinner and 2014's 2014 Forest Hills Drive, received mostly positive reviews from critics, while being both certified platinum in the US. The latter earned him his first Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Album. 2014 Forest Hills Drive was also the first rap album in over 25 years to gain platinum certification without any guest appearances or features. In December 2016 Cole released his fourth studio album 4 Your Eyez Only. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified platinum in April 2017

Now to the final segment of this analysis, both artistes are great musicians who have excelled and achieved great strides in the entertainment industry on a global scale, which can never be overlooked.
Kanye West is multi talented individual whose mastery of music is dynamic, he started out as producer before grabbing the mic, his unique way of production, lyrics and his outspoken nature will really bring a lot to the table if there is a chance of a collaboration between him and J. Cole. But some will argue that his outspoken nature will probably do more harm than good for any endeavour he embarks on but I beg to disagree, he is an artiste and a professional in the game. So as they say no matter what happens the show must go on and it does always.
J. Cole on the other hand is a gifted artiste with a great story to tell always, trust me he delivers and never disappoints even when it is just him, he kills it and this is definitely a key factor to illuminating this possible joint between these superstars. So imagine if these stars could come together, rub mind and give us a musical dish out just imagine.
